Abstract
"Redlining Today" is the first public program in a community-engaged humanities series focused on the long-term impact of redlining in Greensboro, North Carolina. Held at James B. Dudley High School, this event featured a panel of local leaders—Yvonne Johnson, Rev. Bradley Hunt, and Dr. Padonda Webb—who discussed how historical housing discrimination continues to shape East Greensboro today. Moderated by Harvey Long of F.D. Bluford Library, the conversation explored the social, economic, and health-related consequences of redlining and the paths forward for racial equity in housing.
The event is part of a grant-funded series titled The History of Redlining in East Greensboro: Conversations about Our City’s Past and Present, made possible through the support of North Carolina Humanities. The series fosters dialogue among scholars, local residents, and community partners through exhibitions and programs designed to promote understanding and change.
