Alfred R. Mosby (1893-1967) ‘1917 was an A&T trade school student who ran a photography studio on campus. He shot many of the few surviving glimpses of Aggie life remaining from the 1910s. Mosby's works were used to promote A&T in the 1910s. He became a successful photographer in Philadelphia, Pa.,
where he was known as the “Dean of Photographers” to the city's Black community.
Original prints of Mosby's works survived for decades in the University Archives and Special Collection, but were not identified until 2023 by A&T student J'Licia Hatcher '24.
