Description
Constructed in 1967, the Memorial Student Union is the main center for social life of students at the University. It houses meeting rooms, conference rooms, student government offices and staff offices. The Union underwent an extensive expansion that included the additions of a food court, an outdoor quad and a ballroom. The ballroom is named for Vernell Stallings, an alumnus and former associate director of the Union. The food court was fittingly named the “Aggie Sit-In’ following a contest that was held in colorful murals depicting life at A&T grace the walls. The grand opening of the renovated Union was March 2001.
