Abstract
The latest technology disruption of AI has evolved to become more than a fad. Recent evolutions of these tools have also increased its applicability to many domains beyond the traditional walls of computer science. In this talk, I will cover recent interdisciplinary research on how AI-powered tools have been used by technologies known builders such as software engineers, but also how it can be used for those who may consider themselves to be emerging technologists. I will discuss the promises and perils of these tools, their implications for society, and propose opportunities for researchers and scientists to be excited yet critical of what they bring to the educational setting.
