Abstract
The construction industry is one of the largest sectors in the US economy, but one of the biggest construction challenges is increasing productivity. The industry recently started to utilize new technologies such as robots and drones to increase productivity. Our group's product idea is to develop a semi-automated rover to collect critical data on construction sites and interiors of completed buildings. The rover will use a ray of sensors such as a 360 camera, thermal camera, and LIDAR. The rover will allow construction managers and facility managers to speed up the data collection process and reduce labor usage.
