Enhancing student learning and achievement via a direct instruction-based ICT integrated in a Kuwaiti 12th-grade secondary school math curriculum

Abstract
Many educators instruct their classrooms using Informational Communication Technology (ICT) which in recent years has increasingly gained attention. This study was conducted to examine the benefits of teaching critical math points subject with the use of direct math instruction-based ICT. The targeted population was 12th grade female Kuwaiti students in a public high school for girls. A comparison of participants' math performance was analyzed. The study found that participants' learning and achievement improved as a result of ICT instruction. It was concluded that both direct instruction approach and ICT are appropriate methods for enhancing students' learning and achievement in math subjects. Recommendations are provided to the ministry of education and teacher education programs to use effective teaching methods.
