Abstract
Transition of ex-offenders back into the community and into employment requires rehabilitation counselors and employment specialists to work with employers in multiple roles to increase access to and attainment of employment for ex-offenders. The purpose of this article is to discuss ex-offenders with disabilities as a vulnerable and marginalized population who encounter major community and employment barriers to reintegration. In addition, information is presented on ex-offenders' self-perception and expectations, and strategies on how to work effectively with employers and community-based entities to affect positive employment outcomes for ex-offender populations.
