Course Description

This course is designed to help you develop skills to structure a message for effectiveness with an introduction, main points, useful transitions, a conclusion, identify your communication goals, and outline the key points and sub-points of your spoken messages; adapt to changes in audience characteristics, choose and narrow appropriate topics, support arguments with relevant and adequate evidence, and demonstrate competence and comfort with information. In this course, we will challenge students to become engaging critical thinkers through both formal instruction and informal interaction.
